Ibex

Ibex, a maker of merino wool active-wear, selected Heliotrope to provide the design for its second ‘brick and mortar’ store, located in the University Village shopping center. Ibex sources its wool from family ranches practicing sustainable management, and utilizes US weaving mills paying a living wage. The concept of ‘ethical wool’ is critical to the brand, and our design for the store is intended to be a reflection of that. The overall look of the store is simple, functional and well crafted, utilizing quality materials — a reflection of Ibex products. We endeavored to use natural materials with a minimum of processing. All wood finishes (fir, madrona, eastern pine) are reclaimed, and basalt stone tile was sourced from a local quarry. The storefront is custom and fabricated of brushed stainless steel. Fixtures, cabinetry and furnishings are of stainless and blackened steel.
